And it won’t be a pretty sight

My trek into the depths of insanity continues! Every time I think I’ve hit a new low, it just keeps descending! See for yourself:

- I turned down a very nice offer to go work for a startup run by my former coworkers, because I’m pleased staying at my near-death, imminent layoffs, chinese dissident journalist brokering employer.

- I changed my mind about Death Cab For Cutie after two years of not liking their music. Next thing I know, I’ll be listening to Mates of State or Coldplay or something. Then again in 1999 I thought Korn was pretty great, so maybe I just have shitty taste in music.

- I’m actually enjoying (a lot of) first-person shooters on a regular basis. As an added bonus, normally I’m morally opposed to multiplayer games (or any games that assumes one has friends, since I don’t) but I’ve seriously had fun playing Team Fortress 2 (on Xbox Live no less). I still haven’t turned on the voice chat though.

- I’ve seriously considered going back and rejoining some of the online communities I left behind (there are many!). Hopefully my resolve is strong enough not to go back on this one.

And in one case where I wasn’t completely crazy, I was watching Shortbus last weekend and I swore I recognized the singer who was performing throughout the movie. I looked him up and it turns out he’s Scott Matthew and also did vocals for songs in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. So my recognizing his voice was actually not me being delusional. For once.

You just keep on trying ’til you run out of cake

GLaDOS can say what she wants, Portal is what broke my heart. Not even a weighted companion cube plush toy can mend it. Well, maybe a little.
