We can still be friends when I get off stage

So the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAF08) is upon us again. Last year I bought tickets to a few screenings but did not end up attending anything due to my car dying. Hopefully this year will be a little more successful, I attempted to consolidate everything I wanted to see into the two Sundays (the 16th and 23rd). Here are the films I will be seeing:

Traveling with Yoshitomo Nara

The Killing of a Chinese Cookie

Asians in the Claws of Neon Lights

Always Be Boys

Death Note

Happiness

Actually Love

I am not going to be seeing it again, but I highly recommend A Gentle Breeze in the Village (Tennen Kokekko). It is the newest film by Nobuhiro Yamashita, who also directed Linda, Linda, Linda (which I have talked enough about). I’m a Cyborg But That’s Okay is also really cute and has the same black comedy that Park Chan-Wook had in his Vengeance Trilogy, plus you get to see Rain yodeling.
